"With caution, with confidence" is the name of the child abuse prevention program presented in
every 2nd primary class in Geneva since 2001. Created and developed by the Service of Health for
Youth in collaboration with primary education and several associations, this program is based on
an original approach of risk prevention, promotion of resiliency and education for emotional
and sexual life. It aims at promoting self-esteem, reinforcement of notions of privacy and reserve,
and skills that allow the child to face abuse situations and talk to a competent person. The
intervention by specialized health educators is followed up by teachers with pedagogical activities.
The book "Marion, François and their friends" is given to each child and can be read and commented
in class as well as at home with the parents.
